The Anglia Rusking judo team have started their pre-BUCS training. BUCS is the British University and Colleges Spor championships, there will be 20 sports contested in Sheffield this weekend by around 100 university’s.
Whilst our team have been training all year, it is not time to get most of the team together and put some high intensity work in. They will train 2-3 times per day from Sat 12th – Wed 16th, then they will do one lactate removal session (very light) on Thu before traveling to Sheffield on the Friday.
The individual competition is on the Saturday and the Teams is on the Sunday.
Yesterday we completed a short, high intensity newaza session, today we are focusing on speed and transition. This afternoon we will watch England win the rugby, head for nandos and then maybe even the cinema to relax.
